Our Mission

Our mission is to provide evidence-based, structured literacy instruction that helps children become confident, capable readers. We support students with dyslexia and learning differences through individualized, data-informed teaching that builds strong reading foundations and lasting academic confidence.

Who We Support

We support children who are finding reading and spelling more difficult than expected and need clear, structured instruction to build strong literacy foundations. Our services are designed for early readers, students who are not making steady progress with traditional classroom instruction, and struggling readers.

We work with children attending international schools, including American, Cambridge and IB programs, as well as students learning English as an additional language. Many of the learners we support are bright, capable students who simply need instruction that is intentional, systematic, and tailored to how they learn best.

Families often reach out when they notice reading feels effortful, confidence is decreasing, or progress seems slower than expected. We provide a supportive environment that helps students gain skills, confidence, and independence as readers.

Our Approach

At Structured Literacy Center, our instruction is grounded in research-based science of teaching reading using the Orton-Gillingham approach and designed to meet learners where they are while building strong, lasting literacy skills.

  • Structured, systematic literacy instruction grounded in the science of reading and OG framework

  • Explicit phonics and language foundations, taught clearly and sequentially

  • Multisensory teaching strategies that support retention and understanding

  • Individualized instruction tailored to each learner’s strengths and needs

  • Flexible delivery options, including in-person and online sessions (availability varies)

  • Ongoing, data-informed progress monitoring using formal and informal measures

  • Supportive, student-centered learning environment that builds confidence and independence

  • Family collaboration and education, helping parents understand how reading skills develop and how to support learning at home

We believe that when reading instruction is structured, explicit, and responsive, students are empowered to become confident, capable readers and lifelong learners.

What stood out most was the individualized approach. Lessons were adapted to my son's needs, and we could see steady improvement over time. The environment felt supportive and encouraging, and we felt included in the process as parents.

We had tried tutoring before, but this was the first time someone explained why reading was difficult and how to approach it step by step. The sessions were calm, structured, and very thoughtful. Our child became more confident and less anxious about reading.
